Danville Man Arrested For Attacking Parents

Posted:

Danville, VA - A Danville couple was taken to the hospital early Wednesday morning after police say their son attacked them.

Police responded to a disturbance call at the 200 block of Sunset Drive around 3 a.m. They found two people with head injuries, a 77-year-old man and his 40-year-old wife.

Police say they got into an argument with Mimh Duy Du, 22, and it escalated. Police say the investigation has been a challenge because the family speaks Vietnamese.

"It's always unfortunate when a situation escalates and family members violently act out against another family member," said Cpt. Dennis Haley, Danville Police Department.

Du was arrested and charged with aggravated malicious wounding.

According to police, the wife has been released from the hospital. And the husband was in surgery as of Wednesday morning.
