Update: Senator Deeds Tweets Message After Being Released From Hospital

Update 11:30 a.m.:

Senator Creigh Deeds tweeted out a message to his 5,000 followers Friday morning.

This is what he said: 

"I am alive so must live. Some wounds won't heal. Your prayers and your friendship are important to me."

Update:  9:30 a.m.

Charlottesville, VA - A spokesman for UVA Medical Center says Senator Creigh Deeds was discharged from the hospital Friday morning.

Charlottesville, VA - Senator Creigh Deeds is still listed in good condition at UVA Medical Center Thursday after state police say his son stabbed him multiple times.

The Senator's son, Gus Deeds, 24, then turned a gun on himself Tuesday morning.

Deeds was flown to UVA after being found stabbed in his torso and head near his Bath County home.

He was first listed in critical condition and has been steadily improving.

No word right now on when he'll be released from the hospital.
