NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are looking for help in identifying a man wanted for an attempted arson at a York County gas station.

Fairview Township police said the man tried to set fire to the Shell gas station in the 100 block of Limekiln Road on Nov. 15.

The clerk smelled smoke inside the building and found someone had lit a pile of paper on fire and stuffed it under an ATM outside the store, police said.

The clerk removed the smoldering papers and extinguished the fire before the building caught fire.

Police have obtained a photo of the suspect from the store's security cameras.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call Fairview Township police at 717-901-5267.
