CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police say a verbal altercation in a Weis parking lot led to a driver striking a bike with his car. The biker was not injured.

According to officials, 18-year-old Dakarai A. Petty of West Virginia became involved in an argument with a 17-year-old from Carlisle and his father in the parking lot of Weis on E. High Street.

Petty left the parking lot at a high rate of speed and struck the victim's bike. The victim jumped off the bike and wasn't hurt, though the bike became lodged under Petty's car.

Authorities said Petty was seen at W. High and N. Hanover streets speeding with the bike still lodged underneath it.

Petty was stopped in the 100 block of W. High Street.

He was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and careless driving.
