YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

York Area Regional police said a man was fleeing the scene of a crash Monday evening, when he struck a tree, fatally injuring his own brother.

Police said 48-year-old Jamey Hartless of Glen Rock hit a car on South George Street in York Township. Police said witnesses told them Hartless sped away from the scene.

Just minutes later, police were called to the 200 block of Reynolds Mill Road in York Township, where they discovered Hartless had struck a tree. The crash killed his front seat passenger, 51-year-old Timothy Hartless of Glen Rock.

Police said alcohol and speed were both factors in the crash.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 717-741-1259.
