Police: knife-wielding robber steals cigarettes from gas station

Police in Manheim are searching for an armed robber that used a kitchen knife to take cigarettes from a Turkey Hill.

Manheim Borough Police were called to the gas station in the 100 block of South Main Street at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday morning after receiving a report of a robbery.

According to officials, the store clerk was ambushed while in the rear of the store. The suspect grabbed the clerk, pointed a knife in his face and demanded cigarettes.

The robber then fled the store with four packs of Pall Mall cigarettes.

Police said the suspect was between 5'6" and 5'8" tall. He had a stocky built, black wavy hair, and day's growth of facial hair. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt with the Philadelphia Eagles Logo on it, gray jeans and white shoes.

The kitchen knife used in the incident had a red handle.

Manheim Borough asks anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact police at 717-665-2481.
