CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Two people are in custody after police say a man killed his own mother and a woman helped him move her body.

Officials found 85-year-old Mary Tolbert dead in her home, and authorities say her 54-year-old son Paul Tolbert killed her.

Police said they received a call around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon from a concerned citizen who said an acquaintance had been threatening to commit a violent act at the home along the first block of Spring Road.

Officers responded and found Mary Tolbert dead inside a back bedroom. Officers said she had been stabbed multiple times. Paul Tolbert was arrested at the residence he shared with his mother.

They also found multiple knives, a mop and cleaning supplies; authorities believe this indicates he tried to clean up after the crime.

According to Cumberland County District Attorney Dave Freed, Tolbert stole money from his mother to purchase drugs.

Police also arrested 49-year-old Alison Green in connection with the homicide. Officials said she concealed evidence by helping to move the body.

Tolbert was charged with homicide, robbery and tampering with evidence. Green faces charges including abuse of a corpse, receiving stolen property and possessing a crack pipe.
