People around the world reacted to Nelson Mandela's death. Those in the midstate were no exception.
Harrisburg pastor Lavette Paige said Mandela was the reason she went to visit South Africa in 2009.
She stopped at places, like Robben Island where Mandela was imprisoned. She even saw his cell.
Paige said she was always moved by Mandela.
But her visit inspired her sermons and her work with the group Heeding God's Call which stands up to gun violence.
"All this that happened that Nelson Mandela was able to come out of that situation see the results and of all the struggles and all the pain he had gone through," Paige said.
She hopes that we will never forget Mandela and never stop trying to make the world a better place.
