VDOT Finds Storm Prep a Challenge

Posted:

Salem, VA - VDOT crews are doing their best to prepare for a storm because of the uncertain forecast for our area.

Spokesman Jason Bond says crews are prepping and ensuring equipment and chemicals are properly stocked.

They also have their tree cutting crews ready to go.

As for storm plan, that is being considered on a day-to-day basis until that forecast becomes more clear.

"Brining, pre-treating that is something we have to make sure the conditions are right to do. We don't want to have more of a rain event and have that brine that we put down ahead of the storm wash off. So it's definitely trickier and it does make it more problematic when trying to plan ahead," said Bond.
