TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Bradrick Shaw rushed for a touchdown and caught another as Hoover High School beat Auburn High School 20-3 in the AHSAA Class 6A state championship game in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

On a cold and rainy night, Hoover won its second consecutive state title and tenth overall, denying Auburn its first ever.

Shaw rushed for 53 yards on the night and caught a 39-yard touchdown from Jack Hutchenson in the third quarter that broke the game open.

Both teams combined for just 323 yards of offense.

Hoover opened the scoring with an Alex Elam blocked punt that was recovered in the end zone by Chris DeMoss.

Sage Ledbetter kicked a 35-yard field goal for the Tigers in the third quarter.

Shaw scored on the reception and on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
