Ice creating problems on the roads, in the air

Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A blast of icy weather is causing commuting problems across the Midstate Monday morning.

Several outbound flights at Harrisburg International Airport have been canceled. All of the arrivals are currently on time. Airport officials urge travelers to check the status of their flight before they leave.

There are no major accidents or travel delays across the area, but many roads, especially secondary roads, are covered in a sheet of ice. Bridges and ramps are especially slippery.

As of 6:30 a.m., PPL was reporting nearly 60 people without power in Lancaster County. They were reporting 1,455 people without power in Cumberland County. No problems were reported by First Energy or Adams Electric.

There are many school and business delays and closings to report across the area. For a complete list, click http://www.abc27.com/category/192515/school-closings-and-delays.
