This week's Val's Kid is Alyssa. "She loves going to interact with all the different people," said Caseworker Abi Aswegen. Alyssa is a social butterfly. This teen has many talents.
"I like to do arts stuff..like a ceramics class I draw in my free time," said Alyssa. Alyssa loves animals. "I like ferrets. Ferrets are the cutest things. But I like hairless cats too," said Alyssa.
The 16-year old is looking forward to going to college. Maybe West Chester or a college here in the Midstate. "York looks like a good college, not really sure yet," said Alyssa. As for her career goal?
"I'd like to be a mental health therapist," said Alyssa. This young lady has been in foster care for a while. "I think the hardest part for her is the moves and not getting to have what she calls a normal teenaged life," said Aswegen.
The optimistic teen knows what type of family she wants to call her own. Alyssa would like older siblings. "My dream family is probably laid back...they have rules...I'm not too picky on if there are two parents or one just as long as they are loving and not too judgemental," said Alyssa.
"I really hope Alyssa find a family to giver her the space to become the person she is becoming, who lets her explore safely," said Aswegen.
