Police: man, 29, assaulted officer during arrest

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Schuylkill County man faces charges after allegedly assaulting an officer after police responded to a domestic dispute in Middletown.

Officials said 29-year-old Eric Lee Reppert of West Grand Avenue, Tower City was arrested after police responded to a domestic assault in the 100 block of North Catherine Street at around 6:45 a.m. on December 7.

According to authorities, Reppert assaulted a responding officer at the scene and tried to disarm him. Police then used non-lethal force to subdue Reppert, who was taken into custody.

Reppert faces numerous charges including aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

He was taken to the Dauphin County Judicial Center for booking and arraignment, and he was committed to Dauphin County Prison in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. He is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing on the charges.
