Building for the Bedford Community Christmas Station Dedicated

Posted:

Bedford, VA - A Bedford organization that spreads Christmas cheer to families throughout the area now has a permanent home.

Wednesday afternoon was the dedication ceremony for the new building for the Bedford Community Christmas Station.

Earl Childers, a businessman in Bedford, donated the building in memory of his late wife Ethel.

The Christmas Station was established in 2006 to serve low-income families. It gives them an opportunity to get clothing, gifts and household items.

"This really is a community effort. So it's a great charity for the community. We're all proud of what they do," Childers said.

Thursday is the day families will be able to go to the station and get their Christmas gifts.
