A Carlisle man was arrested for public drunkenness after he was found sleeping on a bench inside a Walmart store, according to police.
Michael Petry, 61, had been asleep on the bench for about eight hours before officers were called to remove him at around 11 p.m. Wednesday night, borough police said in a news release.
Walmart personnel told the officers that Petry had been sleeping in the store since around 3 p.m., police said.
Petry was searched after his arrest and was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
He was additionally charged for those crimes.
