It's time to squash the endless speculation and rumors about Nick Saban and his place of employment.

Saban has agreed to a new, multi-year contract extension with the University of Alabama, the school announced via Twitter Friday night, ending a week of wild "reports" of the 62-year-old coach possibly leaving the Crimson Tide for a job not yet vacant in Austin, Texas.

According to multiple media outlets, Saban will now make around $7 million annually through 2020, a contract that is expected keep him in Tuscaloosa for the remainder of his career. He signed an 8-year extension worth $5.62 million annually in March of last year.

As for the Texas-talk, Saban told ESPN.com Saturday that he never even considered going to the Longhorns.

"The way this sort of got spun, it was a little bit more like, 'OK, he got a new contract at Alabama, so he's going to stay at Alabama instead of going to Texas,'" Saban said. "I never considered going to Texas. That wasn't even a conversation."

Considering Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron told reporters that his coach wasn't leaving Tuscaloosa on Thursday, the news of Saban's decision to stay shouldn't come as a surprise to most people, except those that get their college football news from anonymous "insiders" on internet message boards.

"I messed with Coach, he's getting too old to start up again somewhere else," McCarron said before winning the Maxwell Award at the Home Depot College Football Awards in Orlando. "He told me he's not leaving. And I know Miss Terry well enough; she runs that house. And she's not allowing Coach to leave either. I think he'll be at the University of Alabama for a little while."

It remains to be seen how long "a little while" is for Nick and Terry and their stay in T-Town, but for the Crimson Tide faithful, keeping its coach and "First Lady" serves as some much-needed positive reinforcement two weeks removed from what many are calling the "Disaster on the Pasture."

Saban is 74-14 in seven seasons at Alabama and has led the Crimson Tide to three BCS National Championships, two SEC titles and an 11-1 record in 2013 since his arrival.

No. 3 Alabama (11-1, 7-1) will take on No. 11 Oklahoma (10-2, 7-2) on Jan. 2, 2014 in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, La.
