A York County woman has been charged with lying to police about a robbery where she claimed a man stole her prescription drugs at a Manchester Township pharmacy.
Mellissa Ann Adams, 44, of Felton, had arranged to meet the man she accused of robbery at the N. George Street pharmacy on Dec. 9, and she had agreed to sell him 50 pain killers for $20 each, according to Northern York County Regional police.
Jacob M. Sheckells, 23, also of Felton, took the pills supplied by Adams, but instead of paying her $1,000 as agreed he gave her only $170, police said.
Adams has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance and false reports to law enforcement.
Police have dropped charges of robbery, theft, receiving stolen property and harassment against Sheckells. He is still charged with possession of a controlled substance.
