Police: 10-year-old boy shot in face in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police said a 10-year-old boy was shot in the face along the 1800 block of Regina Street in Harrisburg.

According to officials, shots were fired at the child's home just before 8 p.m. on Monday evening.

Harrisburg Police Chief Thomas Carter said the boy has been sent to Penn State Hershey Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The boy was on the couch watching television when the incident occurred, Carter said.

Officials also said that four other children were home at the time of the shooting.

A male was led from the scene in handcuffs. Police did not explain why saying the investigation is ongoing.

Carter said seven shots were fired at the home. Five hit the house.
