Police arrested a 20-year-old man from East Pennsboro Township after officials say he stole a debit card from a restaurant employee.

On December 12 at around 4:10 p.m., the West Shore Regional Police Department received a report of a possible theft at Isaac's Restaurant in the 1200 block of Market Street in Lemoyne.

Police learned that earlier in the day, the manager discovered that money was missing from the store's cash register. A similar incident occurred on Monday, December 2. Authorities also discovered that on December 1, an employee had a debit card stolen from her purse.

During an investigation, police identified 20-year-old Joseph Lee McLaughlin of the 300 block of State Street as a possible suspect.

Officials found that the employee's debit card had been used at a nearby business. Video of the transaction was viewed, and McLaughlin was positively identified as using the victim's card.

A warrant for McLaughlin's arrest was obtained, and on December 15 McLaughlin was taken into custody in Fairview Township, York County.

He faces numerous charges including forgery, access device fraud and identity theft. McLaughlin was placed in Cumberland County Prison pending a preliminary hearing.
