Danville, VA - For those of us who won't be watching the ball drop in Times Square, there are plenty of local options for ringing in 2014.
Old favorites like Ham's have extended their hours for one of their biggest nights, newcomers on the Danville food scene are also prepping for large crowds.
"We're about at 200 reservations this evening, " said Golden Leaf Bistro Manager Taylor Alvis.
A lot of work has gone into Golden Leaf's first New Year's celebration, and they promise not to disappoint - with a special holiday menu, party favors and a champagne toast.
"We're just putting this out there to give people something to do, something a little more elegant. I think everyone will be really excited, " Alvis said.
Bartenders we met said they will be watching tonight to make sure no one has too much to drink.
"We have very strict policies and procedures in place to make sure everybody gets where they should be safely, " said Ham's General Manager David Pedigo.
To avoid the potential for drinking and driving, Highlander Restaurant and Lodge has put together a special deal: dinner for two and a hotel room on site.
"For New Year's, we're offering a $99 special where you can go to eat and have a great time, enjoy yourself and not have to worry about how you're getting home, " said Highlander General Manager Damian McBride.
In Lynchburg, there will be celebrations at Phase Two and Oakwood Country Club.
Now, only one question remains: where will you be when the clock strikes 12?
