LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) -

Firefighters spent the morning battling a hay fire at a farm in North Cornwall Township, Lebanon County.

Chief Mike Nelson of the Neversink Fire Company said the fire in the 200 block of Village Drive, north of Quentin village, began in several large hay rolls at around 5 a.m.

The smoldering hay was spread out in a field with a front end loader while firefighters doused it with water.

Nelson said the fire was likely the result of spontaneous combustion.

Some farm buildings had minor damage from the heat, but no structures were lost and no one was injured.
