Newville man injured by stray bullet

NEWVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Newville man was struck by a stray bullet on New Year's Eve, according to state police in Carlisle.

George Lautsbaugh, 78, was standing outside his neighbor's porch on Pine Knob Road in Upper Mifflin Township when the .22 caliber bullet hit him in the right arm at around 2:35 p.m., police said in a news release.

Lautsbaugh was treated by EMS and refused further medical treatment, police said.

Authorities said it is not known where the shot came from or who fired it.
