WASHINGTON, Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, January 8, 2014, the International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) will present a Leadership webinar: Approaches to Evaluating Blended Learning Programs. The webinar will take place from 2:00pm – 3:00pm ET and will feature insight from Dr. Mary Esselman, Deputy Chancellor, Instructional Support & Educational Accountability for Michigan's Education Achievement Authority (EAA) and Ernie Silva, Director of External Affairs for SIATech.
Susan Patrick, President and CEO of iNACOL, said, "In many areas of the United States, schools are in the process of implementing blended learning programs or courses in addition to traditional course offerings in their brick and mortar schools. Transitioning to a new model requires school and district leaders to think differently about how they judge effectiveness and determine success. This webinar will share emerging practices developed by two leaders driving blended learning programs and working to personalize learning for students."
The January 8th webinar will focus on current practices for evaluating program effectiveness, the evaluation tools in use and how blended learning schools analyze multiple sources of data to understand program success. Presenters will lead a discussion of important considerations around the ongoing formative data collected to inform teachers and administrators about what contributes to student success in online courses and will explore how their programs approach collection of data and what methodology they use to organize and present data for school or district leaders.
