A New Holland woman has been charged with stealing from her former employer.
Angela Hurst, 38, took more than $3,740 from the dental practice of Dr. Robert Berstecher between July 18 and October 14 by altering the books when patients paid in cash, borough police said.
Hurst also obtained more than $1,600 in dental work for family members by altering books to make it appear as though the accounts were paid when they were not, police said.
She admitted to investigators that she went into the business's computer system and altered the ledger, and that she removed cash from the business, according to police.
She also admitted she altered the records of family members to obtain free dental care, police said.
Hurst was charged with theft by unlawful taking and theft of services and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
