Elderly women targets of home invasions in Franklin County

Posted: Updated:

Police in Franklin County are investigating several home invasions involving elderly women.

According to police in the early morning hours on Wednesday a man entered 5 homes in Franklin County. Police say he stole money from the victims and took jewelry from one of the homes.

Some of the elderly women, who are in their seventies and eighties, were confronted by the intruder.

"They were told to give him money and at some point several of them were threatened to have bodily harm done to them if they did not cooperate," said Trooper Randy Kane, Pennsylvania State Police. "I would have to imagine that it was pretty terrifying for them, being in fear for their life because they did not know what this individual is going to do to them."

Police believe these home invasions are linked to two similar robberies that happened in Franklin County December. No word on a suspect.
