Hershey man injured in pedestrian crash

HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Hershey man was injured when he was struck by a vehicle Thursday night while crossing Route 422.

David Gingrich, 55, was transported to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, according to Derry Township police.

His injuries did not appear to be life threatening, police said.

Police identified the driver of the vehicle that struck Gingrich as 62-year-old Mary Hinkle, also of Hershey.

The incident occurred about 3,000 feet east of University Drive shortly after 9 p.m. and closed one lane of Route 422 until 11:30 p.m.

Police are asking anybody who witnessed the crash to call them at 717-534-2202.
