Traffic Stop in Appomattox Co. Leads to Meth Charges
Appomattox Co., VA - A routine traffic stop in Appomattox County Friday night led to what the sheriff's office says was a meth bust.
Chester Lee Hickman, Junior, of Big Island is charged with possession with the intent to manufacture and distribute a schedule one or two drug, marijuana possession as well as several driving related charges.
Friday night, deputies pulled over Hickman on Route 460.
What deputies observed led them to get a search warrant for Hickman's pickup truck (pictured).
The Sheriff says they confiscated chemicals and other items used to produce methamphetamines; very volatile materials.
"Not only does it pose a threat to the individuals using this or making this type of drug, but it also could pose a threat to the public in general just due to the chemicals and so forth that are used in making this drug," explained Sheriff Barry Letterman.
Hickman is out of jail after posting a $50,000 bond.
