Arrests Made In 12-Year-Old Cold Case

Independence, VA - Investigators in Grayson County have made arrests in a 12 year old cold case.

Two men have been indicted for killing Kyle Brandon Billings almost 12 years ago.

Chad Allen Reeves, 33, and George Albert Harper, III, 40, are both charged with murder.

Both have also been charged with using a firearm in commission of a felony.

Police found Kyle Billings dead near the New River and the cul-de-sac of Rock House Lane in Grayson County on October 6th, 2002.

It sparked a long search for those responsible.

Police say both suspects are already in prison on unrelated convictions.

Reeves is in federal custody in another state and he will not be tried until his finishes that sentence.

Harper is in custody of the Virginia Department of Corrections, but his trial date has not been set.
