MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Mechanicsburg woman was transported for medical treatment Tuesday night after she was struck by a car in a hit-and-run crash, according to police.

Upper Allen Township police said 42-year-old Amy L. Johnson was attempting to cross South Market Street at the intersection of Gettysburg Pike when the incident occurred at 8:25 p.m.

Johnson sustained minor injuries, police said.

Police said the striking car was said to be a silver sedan, possibly a Chevrolet, with a Pennsylvania license plate. A white sticker, possibly the Browning firearms symbol of a deer head, was in the bottom left corner of the rear window.

The driver was described as a heavy-set white male, approximately 50 years old with a mustache, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Upper Allen police at 717-238-9676 or leave an anonymous tip at 717-850-UAPD (8273).
