Update: High Speed Car Chase Ends in Crash in Concord

Concord, VA – We are getting an update from State Police on the police chase in Concord on Wednesday.

State Police say the juvenile driver has shoulder and back injuries and the juvenile passenger has minor injuries.

According to police, they tried to stop the car for traffic violations Wednesday afternoon when it sped off.

After a chase at one point over 100 miles per hour, they say the car crashed on Spencer Road.

The driver and passenger were thrown from the car.

State Police say neither one was wearing a seat belt.

Marijuana was recovered at the scene. An investigation is ongoing at this time.

Concord, VA - Two people were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after a police chase led to a crash in Concord.

State Police say they tried to stop a car for traffic violations around 12:30 near the Lynchburg Airport when it sped off.

They say a patrol car driven by a trainee was chasing the car at speeds up to 105 miles per hour when the car that was being pursued crashed on Spencer Road.

The driver and passenger were thrown from the car.

State Police say both were juveniles and neither one was wearing a seat belt.

There's no word on their conditions.
