HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Standard Parking plans to extend metered parking in Harrisburg soon.

Drivers will no longer be able to park for free after 5 p.m. at meters. Instead, they will have to feed the meter until 7 p.m.

Meter rates and fines are also going up. It will cost $0.75 to park for 15 minutes. Parking tickets are now $30 and jump to $50 after four days.

Last year, Harrisburg City Council approved putting Standard Parking in charge. The move was part of the plan to get the city out debt.
