Authorities offering $10,000 reward for information in fire-related murder of Oneonta man

Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information regarding the fire-related murder of an Oneonta man, Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey announced Friday.

Donald Whited, 66, died Jan. 13 in a fire at his home in the 3900 block of Ebell Road. Following a preliminary investigation, the Alabama State Fire Marshal and members of the ATF ruled the fatal blaze as arson.

An autopsy was performed Wednesday and Whited's death was ruled a homicide.
