SPRING GROVE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police have identified a husband and wife who died in a crash with a backhoe tractor Sunday evening on Route 116 near Spring Grove.

Roy Kline Jr., 86, of Hanover, was driving a 1998 Subaru west on Route 116 when he struck the left side of the tractor as it pulled away a residence and entered the roadway at around 5 p.m., according to Southwestern Regional police.

Kline and his wife, 85-year-old Lorraine Kline, died at the scene.

The crash occurred between Iron Ridge Road and Jacobs Mill Road in Heidelberg Township, about three miles west of Spring Grove.

Police said the driver of the tractor is a 17-year-old male who lives near the scene of the crash. Authorities said he was "shaken," but required no medical treatment.

The investigation is continuing as to exactly what occurred in the crash, police said.

Route 116, locally known as York Road, was temporarily closed for the investigation.

Any witnesses are asked to call Officer Shaun Dickmyer at 717-225-1333 ext. 113 or through York County 911.
