Boy injured in stabbing incident released from hospital

LEWISBERRY, Pa. (WHTM) -

A two-year-old boy who was injured in a stabbing incident in a York County home last week has been released from a hospital.

Fairview Township police said the child was released from the hospital over the weekend.

His mother, 36-year-old Candis Bradshaw, is still being treated for her injuries.

Bradshaw and her son were flown to a hospital Friday morning after an apparent murder-suicide attempt in the first block of Foxfire Lane.

The boy had two slash wounds, each several inches long, on both sides of his neck and his mother had a self-inflicted stab wound to the chest, police said.

Police said that due to statements and evidence obtained at the scene, it appears Bradshaw inflicted the injuries to her child and herself with a kitchen knife, but the investigation is ongoing.

Police have said they are looking into any mental health issues that may have contributed to the incident.

They said criminal charges may follow after medical and psychological treatments are completed.
