MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

Middletown officials have set up a heat shelter at the Middletown Volunteer Fire Department for those in need of warmth during the extreme cold spell.

The fire department, located at the corner of Adelia and East Emaus streets, is offering a warm place to stay for those seeking emergency shelter due to a loss of heat, broken pipes or other weather related problems.

Mayor James H. Curry III and the Borough's Emergency Management Agency decided to reopen the warming station made available to residents during the last Midstate cold spell.

Residents needing shelter are asked to contact Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Foreman at 717-810-7569 to make arrangements.
