A Dauphin County woman witnessed her 26-year-old daughter's murder during an armed robbery in Philadelphia.
Stephanie Long and her husband own Goldcrafter's Corner, a jewelry store on Jonestown Road in Lower Paxton Township.
Long said she was visiting her daughter, Amber, for the weekend. On Sunday night, they were walking from a rail stop in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia, when two armed men approached them and demanded their purses.
"One of them grabbed my purse and got away," Long said. "The other one tried to grab her purse and she resisted. He shot her. He just shot her at point blank range. He shot her in the chest and he shot to kill. It went right in the heart."
Amber died at the hospital.
"She was just an extremely talented person who was full of love," Long said of her daughter.
A tip led to the arrest of two men, but police later released them, saying the information came from a bad source.
Police have not said if they have any new suspects in the case.
