A northeastern Pennsylvania man has been charged with more than 5,000 criminal counts for allegedly raping a woman for decades, beginning when she was a child.
Donald Burrell, 55, of Towanda, was under investigation for selling the illegal designer drugs known as bath salts when police learned of the sexual abuse, television station WNEP-TV reported.
Police charged Burrell with 2,870 charges related to rape and another 2,248 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse. He additionally faces 28 drug counts and 16 counts related to child pornography; a total of 5,162 charges.
His bail at Bradford County Prison has been set at $2.2 million.
