TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Two teens accused of stealing a doll from a 8-year-old girl at a Tuscaloosa-area Walmart have been arrested, police said Wednesday.

Sidney Haynie, 18, and Michael Olmstead, 18, both of Duncanville, were arrested last week and each charged with third-degree theft. Haynie has since been released from the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $500 bond while Olmstead remains behind bars on a $300 bond.

According to police, the theft occurred Dec. 14 at the Walmart on Skyland Boulevard, where the little girl and her grandmother were shopping. As the two stepped away from their shopping cart, the two suspects snatched the doll, which was wrapped in a sweatshirt.

Investigators said in a release that the doll hasn't been recovered and they haven't determined a motive in the crime.
