Roanoke Man Rescued After Spending 24 Hours in Tractor-Trailer
Keysville, VA - Curiosity and a phone call may have saved the life of a Roanoke truck driver.
The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office says a concerned motorist called their office around 4:30 Saturday afternoon, after noticing a tractor trailer parked off Farmville Highway for more than 24 hours.
When deputies arrived, they found the driver, Donald Henderson, lying on the floor of the truck, semi-unconscious, dehydrated and barely able to speak.
Deputies say he was rushed to Farmville's hospital and then taken to UVA for a severe case of the flu.
They say he's still in the hospital, but expected to make a full recovery.
