Roanoke, VA - Great news for the Music Lab at Jefferson Center, in Roanoke at Sunday night's Grammy Awards.

Lalah Hatheway, of Chicago, won the Grammy for Best R&B Performance for her song, "Something".

The song was part of a live album recorded by New York-based rising stars, Snarky Puppy.

The jazz band used the Jefferson Center, guest musicians and all the resources of the Music Lab including many of the Music Lab kids on the project.

"Music can change people's lives. Hard work and dedication to being creative can change people's lives. And these students are getting first hand opportunities to learn this from these amazing people," said Dylan Locke, with the Music Lab at Jefferson Center.

Snarky Puppy will be at The Jefferson Center this Friday, but if you don't already have a ticket, the performance is sold out.
