A Lancaster man was arrested after police linked him to numerous burglaries and thefts in the area.
A homeowner in the 1600 block of Ridgedale Drive contacted police on Monday at around 12:30 p.m. The resident said someone had made forced entry into the home through a window and taken coins.
Within a short amount of time, some of the coins were sold at a local coin shop. Investigators identified 32-year-old Shawn M. McCracken as their suspect and set up surveillance at his home in the 1900 block of Oregon Pike.
The suspect was taken into custody at 4:15 p.m.
About an hour later, a second resident of the 1600 block of Ridgedale Drive reported that their home had been entered through an unlocked window. A camera, cash and jewelry were taken.
Police interviewed McCracken and were able to link him to several other burglaries and a theft in the area. McCracken was charged with five counts of burglary and six counts of theft for the following incidents:
McCracken was turned over to Central Booking for arraignment.
