2 dead after train collides with truck in Tuscaloosa - abc27 WHTM

UPDATE: 2 killed in Tuscaloosa truck-train crash identified

57 year old Charles Kelly Meiklejohn of Gulf Shores and 39 year old Nahum Terrance Mickles of Foley were killed in the crash that happened around 11:30am Tuesday.

Preliminary investigation indicates the crash may have been weather related.

Two people died Tuesday after a train collided with a truck in Tuscaloosa, ABC 33/40 reporter Isaiah Harper has learned.

The accident occurred at a railroad crossing off of Larry Nolan Road and University Boulevard East near Cottondale as a strong winter storm blanketed the state, causing numerous traffic accidents.

Details surrounding the crash are limited as authorities continue to investigate.

ABC 33/40 will continue to follow this story and provide updates as more information is made available.

    A federal judge is delaying his decision on an Alabama law that could close some abortion clinics. U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson told attorneys in June that he hoped to rule by the end of July. But Thompson notified attorneys Thursday that he needs extra time and will have a ruling by Monday.
