The Jefferson County EMA released a list of 26 warming shelters in the surrounding area for motorists who are stranded on the roads due to the winter storm.

"Roadways in Jefferson County are extremely hazardous, and citizens are advised to seek the closest place of safety and warmth," the EMA said in a release.

    The Federal Aviation Administration said Monday it is proposing a $12 million civil fine against Southwest Airlines for failing to comply with safety regulations related to repairs on Boeing 737 jetliners.
