HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Harrisburg man has been arrested for a shooting death last year in the 1400 block of Hunter Street.

Daniel Negron-Rosario, 27, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder, false reports, tampering with evidence, and firearms violations.

Authorities said Negron-Rosario on Sept. 19 shot 32-year-old Rafael Cosme-Diaz several times in the chest over a drug debt of several hundred dollars.

He initially told police that someone else committed the crime, but eventually retracted that statement and admitted to killing Cosme-Diaz, prosecutors said.

Negron-Rosario has been in Cumberland County Prison without bail since Dec. 11, when he allegedly fired a gun at a state trooper during a pursuit in Lower Allen Township.

In that case, he was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering.
