Three people were arrested and over 400 grams of methamphetamine was seized following an extensive, undercover drug operation in DeKalb County, Sheriff Jimmy Harris said Friday.

Rodrigo Padilla, 28, Jesus Bravo Peralta, 38, and Maria Martinez, 40, were arrested at a home in the Whiton community near Crossville, where sheriff's office drug agents from DeKalb, Etowah and Marshall counties joined FBI Safe Streets Task Force members in executing a search warrant.

Along with the meth, authorities seized four firearms, $1,000 in cash, an unknown amount of marijuana and three vehicles from the residence.

Padilla is charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance, trafficking methamphetamine and three additional drug-related charges. Peralta and Martinez were both charged with distribution of a controlled substance. All three suspects were booked into the county detention center, where they are facing additional federal and immigration charges.

"We are glad to get this case to the arrest point," Harris said in a release. "We are working with all surrounding Drug units and Federal agencies to make more cases and get a handle on the increase in imported meth and marijuana."

During the raid, children were found at the home and were later taken into protective custody by Alabama DHR.
