GRANTVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A deadly vehicle fire and police incident closed Interstate 81 north in West Hanover Township, Dauphin County for more than three hours Tuesday morning.

It happened around 3:15 at mile marker 74.5, just north of the Linglestown/Paxtonia exit.

The initial call came in as a vehicle fire, but police would not discuss details of their investigation.

Police said the deceased was a 33-year-old man from Hummelstown.  The incident appeared to only involve one vehicle.

The northbound lanes of the Interstate reopened around 6:30 a.m.  There were significant backlogs in the area because of the vehicle fire.
