HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

More than 25,000 electricity customers in York County and about 3,000 others across south central Pennsylvania remained without power late Friday afternoon in the wake of a snow and ice storm two days ago.

First Energy reported about 18,230 customers in York County were still without service as of 5 p.m.

The utility also reported 554 customers affected in Cumberland County, 160 in Adams County, 16 in Dauphin County, 16 in Lancaster County, and 15 in Lebanon County.

PPL Electric Utilities reported 2,444 customers without power in Lancaster County and 545 in York County.

PECO still had about 3,790 customers without electricity service in York County, and Adams Electric reported 2,540 customers awaiting restoration; almost all of them in York County.

Utilities have reported that while about 90 percent of customers should have their electricity returned by Friday night, it could be Saturday or Sunday before service is restored to everyone.
