Two people were transported to a hospital after their vehicle crashed late Tuesday on Route 581 near Camp Hill, reportedly while traveling at approximately 100 miles an hour, police said.
State police in Harrisburg said the 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser was heading east on 581 when the driver lost control and struck the concrete walls under the Route 15 overpass just before 11 p.m.
The Chrysler then rolled onto its roof and slid more than 100 feet before it stopped in the eastbound lanes, police said.
One person in the PT Cruiser sustained minor to moderate injuries and the other person suffered critical injuries, police said. Both were transported to Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
Witnesses to the crash estimated the Chrysler was traveling approximately 100 mph prior to and at the time of the crash, police said.
