Multiple Midstate boroughs declare snow emergencies

WAYNESBORO, Pa. (WHTM) -

CUMBERLAND COUNTY

The mayor of Mechanicsburg declared a snow emergency for the borough just before 9:10 p.m. on Wednesday.

 

DAUPHIN COUNTY

The Borough of Highspire's snow emergency, which began at 4 p.m., included designated routes including:

  • Southside of Broad Street between Lumber and Roop streets
  • Eastside of Paxton Street between Second and Cherry streets
  • Southside of Penn Street between Lumber and Vine streets
  • Westside of Race Street between Second and Vie streets
  • Westside of Roop Street between Second and Market streets
  • North and south sides of Second Street from borough line to borough line
  • Westside of Vine Street between Second and Market streets
  • Southside of Willow Street between Anne and Hanover streets

 

FRANKLIN COUNTY

The Borough of Waynesboro's snow emergency plan will go into effect at midnight.

Borough officials said all vehicles must be removed from Main Street between Clayton Avenue and Fairview Avenue.

Vehicles must also be removed from South Potomac Street between Main Street and Second Street. Vehicles remaining in that area after two hours of the plan going into effect are subject to citation and towing at the owner's expense.

 

LANCASTER COUNTY

In Lancaster County, officials in Strasburg Borough and Township placed a snow emergency in effect beginning at 8 p.m.

    Upper Allen Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left a woman hospitalized early Sunday morning.It happened at around 2:00 a.m. on the 1000 block of Gettysburg Pike.Officials say 22-year-old Breanna L Normand was traveling south on Gettysburg Pike when she drove off the road and hit a utility pole head-on.Normand was transported to the hospital for treatment.No word on the cause of the accident.More >>
