Empty trucks, RV's and other vehicles banned from central Pennsylvania highways during today's winter storm are once again permitted to travel.
PennDOT has lifted the restrictions on Interstate 78, Interstate 81, Interstate 83, Interstate 283, Route 283 and Route 581.
Empty straight trucks, large combination vehicles, and tractors hauling empty trailers had been banned to help ensure that the highways remained open during the most challenging conditions of the winter storm.
PennDOT had also banned trailers pulled by passenger vehicles, motorcycles and recreational vehicles.
Speed limit restrictions on area highways remain in place until further notice.
